Better Late Than Never: USMA Admissions Site Updated After 5+ Years

Our October 2022 post “USMA Admissions Site Needs An Update” pointed out that the West Point admissions page https://westpoint.edu/admissions was using videos with cadets from 2017, posted in early 2019, for its promotions materials.

We’re happy to report that the Admissions site has finally gotten an update. We’d like to think it was because of our post, but there’s no way to know!

From the Internet Archive [ link ], it looks like the update was on 02 March 2024. We checked the snapshots from January and they still had the old content.

The new site is slick! Still no “Duty, Honor, Country,” though there is a mention of service and Nation.

  1. Thge Academy has clearly lost its way – the same problem exists even more problematically with its lack of an updated and accurate Honor Publication: USCC Pam 15-1. This lack of completeing simple administratrive tasks – especially regarding the Honor Code’s Procedures and Implementation Prcess – reflects (per the cureent Sec of the General West Point Staff) that the code is already being managed on the basis of “honorable aspirations” and accommodates lying, cheating and stealing., This fact is based on actual documented cases reported on the Academy’s web site and current cadet sources.
